Joy Division – Transmission

Here’s some Joy Division. If you don’t know enough about these guys you should watch the new film called Control which focuses on the life of lead singer Ian Curtis. If you want a broader (and more realistic) view of their impact on that thick line between the 70’s and the 80’s you should also watch their documentary – which, as of right now, is featured in pitchfork.tv’s One Week Only. This is “Transmission” – watch it now and then again after seeing the doc/film. The poet at the beginning and end is John Cooper Clark who, at the time, actually opened for acts like The Buzzcocks, The Clash and Joy Division.
